My Greeting
2009-2-20 First I would like to say that this is a New Adventure for me. I having never had aspirations to become a writer, or even attempt such a task of this magnitude. But now that I have grown older in “earth years” and have accumulated a quite a bit of experience on this planet, I do feel that I may have some insight on a few subjects. So these writings will be on several subjects that I feel need to be addressed, scrutinized, exposed, and just plainly “aired” out.
I most likely will not complete a commentary on the chosen subject or discussion at one writing, or sitting, as it were, but that is what this Blog thing is all about anyway, right?
I feel that there are many, many, questions that people of all walks of life, religions, cultures, that need to be discussed in open forums formats with no pre-determined agendas established.
I am very much excited about this adventure and look forward to hearing ( reading ) the different views and thoughts that all of God’s people have in, and on their minds.
This greeting will probably change from time to time as I think of things to add, but for now as they say, Lets, Blog!
Scripture – Hebrew Law
Church – Invitation
Just Suppose
JUST SUPPOSE that you invited me to your congregation, assembly, group, bunch, or whatever term you have determined to use for your gathering. I’m sure you will try to convince me that your’s is the best, most correct doctrinally, friendliest, convenient, and we have Wednesday night supper to facilitate working parents and a humongous youth program. Our pastor is a young man with vitality, and we have a wonderful choir and outreach program. And oh, we have a Jail Ministry. (I don’t know why that was brought up, maybe for future reference).
JUST SUPPOSE that I then respond to you that I already have a congregation that I attend, maybe not as regularly as I should, but I do have one; Which brings up the real reason for the original discussion in the first place. Here we go. We believe that you should go to church on “this day” not on the day that you attend. And we baptize this way not the way that you do it. And we, this is the one I love, don’t sing “those” songs, they are too fast and are not really worshipful and the words are “bad confessions”, and they are not out of the Hymn book, or that’s the wrong Hymn book.
I could go on and on and I will at a later commentary, but I did so much want to get this on my site to open up a dialogue with my readers. Of course all of these assumptions are just “opinions”, your’s and mine, and you know what THEY SAY about opinions, “they are like noses, everybody has one, some are bigger than others, some are in the wrong places, some look funny, etc.” Anyway, maybe in our discussion you have convinced me to come to your church. Just MAYBE.
